Template Challenge; Graphic or Layered

Hi everyone!  This is Nancy with another edition of the Template Challenge.  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and that you’ve taken oodles of photos you’re just itching to scrap!  For this week’s challenge, I picked one of the Maplebrook Studios templates.  I liked it because it can easily be used as is for a fabulous graphic look or layered to your hearts desire.   Layered Memories No. 61

Layered Memories no. 61

Let’s take a look at how members of the Creative Team used it.

First up is LeAnne (digishoes).  She used the template to tell the story of a day at the rodeo.  She used one of the larger blocks for an adorable color photo of her daughter and the photo strip for a series of sepia tone detail shots.  She hid the remaining blocks and added layers of gorgeous goodies under her photos.  Once I started reviewing her product list, I realized that she cleverly made use of a number of Kayleigh’s Readymades in her layering.  I just keep looking and finding new details to savor.  Great page, LeAnne!

In addition to Layered Memories No. 61, LeAnne used:  Candid Element Pack, Carte Post Element Pack, Dog Park Element Pack, Flagged Sentiments No. 01, Everyday Clusters No. 01, Messy Stitched Stars White No. 01, Pocket Cards Vintage No. 03, Readymade Blocks: Everyday No. 01, Readymade Blocks: Vintage No. 01, Readymade Blocks: Vintage No. 03, Readymade Edges: Summer No. 01, Readymade Journalers: Life Cards No. 01, Rustica Kit, Stuffed Edge Documents No. 01, Wild Horses Kit, Wild Island Kit, and Wild Weekend Kit.

Next we have a charming page by Bailey (starlite).  Bailey used the template to tell the story of her daughter at Surf Camp this summer!  If you’re landlocked like I am, this is so unique and cool!  My grandsons would seriously dig that!  Bailey was able to make use of all the original template’s blocks filling some with paper and pocket cards.  She even found room in the background to blend a photo for added interest.  She also layered a number of subject appropriate embellishments behind the blocks.  As a scrapper for primarily boys, I can’t help but drool over all that pretty pink!  I adore the faded woods background paper and the pink glitter alpha!  Wonderful page, Bailey!

Bailey 7:30In addition to Layered Memories No. 61, Bailey used: Readymade Geo Shapes Time, Pinned Enamel Hearts No. 1, Little Glittered Arrows, and Pocket Cards Inked Words Surf, all coming to the store next weekend.  As well as Fading Woods Paper Pack, Painted Photo Masks No. 4, Surf Lagoon Kit, Wooden Arrows No. 3, Messy Stitched Circles White No. 1, Metal Rimmed Glitter Alpha Pink No. 1, and Tidewater Kit all in store now.

Finally, I (nancybeck), used the template to tell the story of my grandsons trying out an “Extreme Trampoline” while they were vacationing in Colorado earlier this summer.  I stayed home to dog sit, so fortunately, my son-in-law took some cell phone shots for me.  I rotated the template, and eliminated and resized some blocks to work with my photos.  I loved that that photo strip allowed me to use multiple images of the same event.

Extreme-TrampolineIn addition to Layered Memories No. 61, I used: Calne Collection, Away We Go Collection, Wooden Arrows No. 1, So Fine Collection, Striping Graphics No. 1, Cardstock Tabs No. 2, Artsy Paint No. 1, Watery Spots No. 9, Charted Brushes No. 1, Worn Edges 8.5X11, Messy Stitches White No. 4, Stitched Borders White No. 1, and Layer Works No. 308 (for the title card)
