This is Nancy, here to welcome you to a new edition of the Template Challenge. I’m always amazed when I set off to choose a template for this challenge how easy it is to find one that that hasn’t been featured here before. Since we’ve been doing this column for a little over 4 years now, you’d think that might be a problem, but it’s not. That gives you some idea of just how many wonderful templates are available in the store. For the current challenge, I chose Cathy Zielske’s Layered Template No. 49.
For inspiration, take a look at how three Creative Team members used it.
First, we have this awesome interpretation from Jen (JenD).
Jen’s page features her youngest daughter Hannah and laments how quickly the toddler years have given way to a wanna be thirteen year old who’s love for fashion and makeup will be keeping Mom and Dad on their toes for some time to come! She certainly looks like quite the little glamor girl in those sunglasses to me! I am so in love with the colors and patterns on this page, I just want to keep dwelling here in this happy place!
In addition to Cathy’s template, Jen used: Surf Lagoon Complete Scrapbooking Collection, Classic Cardstock: Carnival, Lens Flare Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Pebbled Universal No. 03, Clean Stitched Borders: White No. 01, and Enchanted Easter Element Pack.
Wonderful page, Jen!
Next we have a page created by Pam (blkcow).
Pam’s page features her adorable little granddaughter Clara, who recently turned a year old, enjoying some pool time. Once again, I am smitten with the pink and and aqua color combo! I was also struck by how masterfully Pam included a number of embellishments on her page without compromising any of the original template’s graphic appeal.
In addition to Layered Template No. 49, Pam used: Leyton Add-On Paper Pack, Classic Cardstocks: Festive Brights Paper Pack, Surf Lagoon Element Pack, Swimmies Scrapbook Collection, Gotta Love Brushes and Stamps No. 04, Photo Corners: Colors No. 01, Doily Edgers No. 03, Arrow Dots Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Miss Millie Kit, and Twenty Thirteen Brushes and Stamps.
Beautiful page, Pam!
Lastly, I, Nancy (Nancy Beck), have one more page for you.
My grandsons are far from cooperative when it comes to sitting down long enough for me to snap a couple of photos of them, so I used Cathy’s template to lament the lack of portrait type shots I have of them, yet embrace the joy I get from seeing them in their natural state of clowning around too, simply because they’re mine and that is who they are!
Besides Cathy’s template, I used: Calne Complete Collection, Hinge Pack, Candid Collection, Vintage Press Blush, Photo Love, and Santa Land Solids and Stripes.
I hope you enjoyed stopping by today. Don’t forget, this template will be on sale for 30% off Thursday 8/29. We’d love to see where it will take you. Be sure to post your pages in the Template Gallery, where we can all enjoy your creation!
