Story Scrapbook Challenge

I don’t know about you but I seem to snap photographs on my phone every single day.   Silly little happenings, momentous occasions, a pretty sunrise, a delicious meal from a restaurant, a lovely view, a dress you’re considering to buy, a selfie … come on we all do selfies don’t we!!??

So this month I want you to look back into your phone and grab a photo, any photo that you’ve taken so far in August and scrap the story about the photo.  Why you took it?  What was happening?  How you were feeling?  Who’s in the photo?  Give us the story about why that photo took space on your phone.    Maybe it’s a screen print you grabbed for a specific reason, a recipe you wanted to remember, a photo you took for Instagram, scrap that story.

And if you are a big girl/boy camera type of person, then what photos have you downloaded from your camera in August.

And okay okay, for those of you who may not have taken a photo so far in August.  Really…!?  But if you haven’t, then go to your diary/calendar, pick a day that you did something in August, what have you got jotted down, an appointment, a meeting, a lunch date, a bill to pay, and scrap that story.  No pics needed.

Our Project Life and story a day people are brilliant about scrapping the ordinary every day happenings, go check out that gallery for ideas if needed.

The creative team have jumped on board with some terrific example pages, I’ve been spoilt for choice so many hands went up, so here are a few:

Esther’s page about the eight dwarfs is a cracker.  What a lovely memory to have and how perfect is that little apple sitting there balancing out the page.

Supplies used by Esther:  Back to School Element Pack,  Back to School Paper Pack,  Back to School Solids Paper Pack,  Color Essentials Mango Element Pack,   Everything is Beautiful Layered Template,  How Sweet Brushes and Stamps,  Instamatic Frames No. 06,  Layer Works No. 941,  Made with Tape Journalers No. 01.

Guest CT member Christine follows it up with a fun page about a “new” game her son had discovered not knowing it’s been played for years.    Terrific story, great photos, it will be a treasure in the family albums.

Supplies used by Christine:  Stamp Sets: Good Life,  Tightly Kerned Titles Brushes and Stamps No. 04,  Vintage Flashcards: Adjectives No. 01,  Taped Word Strips No. 04,  Watery Grids Brushes and Stamps No. 01,  Grungy Ledger Grids Brushes and Stamps No. 02,  Spill Frame Layers No. 02,  Textured Whites Paper Pack No. 02,  Curated Team Scrapbook Mix No. 09,  Zipper Pulls: Dates No. 02,  Tied Fasteners No. 05.

Sharon is the master of spotting the beauty in things and scrapping a complete and utter story about it, not only that, but using the most perfect elements to display on the page marrying story to photograph.  And this one about the froth left in a coffee mug is no exception.

Supplies used by Sharon:   Christmas Garden Element Pack,  Coin Holder Photo Frames No. 06,  Gold and Graphic Sentiment Spots No. 01,  Chipboard Blanks Element,  Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 09,  Krafty Journal Spots No. 02,  Junk Journal Printable Collage Sheet No. 06,  Wanderer Element Pack,  Vintage Mini Mix Kit No. 05,  Cute Mini Mix No. 01,  Star Glows Brushes and Stamps No. 01.

And lastly my page, which I realised in horror the pics were taken on the last day of July (so I’ve broken my own story rules!!) but I’m sure it was August somewhere in the world 😉  about a helicopter flight I took.  We were high on life, hence the silly giggly flight it was.

Supplies I’ve used:  Back to School Solids Paper Pack,  Back to School Scrapbook Kit,  Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No. 01,  December Stories Roughed Up Pocket Cards,  Twisted Dots No. 01.
