Hi everyone and happy 2014. It’s Carol here with another Story Scrapbook Challenge and what perfect time than to challenge you to tell the story of New Beginnings.
I don’t know about you, but story telling can really make me sit back and think and appreciate what is happening in our lives. So with this theme you could take it in a lot of different directions – new beginnings could be about the beginning of a new life, perhaps a new baby (there’s been a few of those at DD in the last few months!!), how about the first day of school (either about yourself or your children), or the daunting prospect of a new job, the flush of a new relationship, a new marriage, a new direction in life or a renewed purpose. All these wonderful beginnings, and well maybe some stories could be not so wonderful. This is where you can really explore and tell a story that is something you need to document for your family history.
One of our newest CT members Sarah (sterkeurs) and Steph have joined me with this challenge and have given you some ideas here.
Sarah just amazed me with this page, the story of what she does at the start of each year, turn the calendar and washing away the old year ready to start the new. The fact that she hails from Canada and it’s winter over there is even more impressive.
Supplies used by Sarah: Basic Grids No. 01, Defining Words No. 03, Watery Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Watery Photo Masks No. 01, Wash Basin Paper Pack, Just Linens Paper Pack No. 26 (Katie Pertiet). Happy New Year 2014 Brushes & Stamps (Cathy Zielske).
Steph has documented a new job she has undertaken and how this has felt for her, a new step, a new job, a new beginning. And what’s not to love, working in a quilting store. Bliss in my books!
Supplies used by Steph: Naturally Krafty No. 14 Paper Pack, Vintage Photo Frames No. 33, Roughed Up Pocket Cards: Ledger No. 01, Happy New Year Brushes and Stamps, Doily Edgers No. 02, Readymade Journalers: Terra Botanica, Readymade Circles: Vintage No. 02, Assorted Messy Stitches No. 07 Super Pack, Chandra Kit, Clean Stitched Circles: White No. 01.
And for my page I wanted to document the very special Christmas gift and surprise my husband and I got on Christmas Eve. The start of a new life. My beautiful step-daughter and fiancé are having a baby, the first grandchild for us. Oh boy, I’m going to have fun documenting this little one’s life.
