The Story Scrapbook Challenge

Food glorious food.  Yes food is a big part of our lives for sure.   This month I want a story about food.

Do you love to cook, have huge family meals, intimate romantic dinners, a favourite dish, a favourite memory of a traditional food you like to cook.   Food evokes such memories.  Is there a smell of something baking that takes you back to another time?  A favourite restaurant or meal?   And come on, who amongst us loves to take photographs of our food, admit it !!??

Are you perpetually on a diet, do you have a love/hate relationship with food, are you allergic to something you’ve eaten, are you following a particular eating plan, grow your own veggies, or have a decadent secret about something delicious?

Have you made a spectacular birthday cake, have a family favourite you might finally like to get the recipe down for, had a disaster in the kitchen?   I want to hear it all.

I was knocked over in the rush, the ladies from the creative team have wanted to play with some fabulous pages to give you some great ideas, love the directions everyone took.

Lizzie (lizziet5) has created a fantastic page of a meal that she likes to cook, if she must!  😉  Such great journalling.  Love the story behind it.  And all the detail on the page especially those houses, really evokes that this is a family story of food.

Supplies used by Lizzie:  Arctic Whites Paper Pack No. 04,  Clean Stitched Borders: White No. 01,  Clean Stitched: White No. 01,  Splatters Brushes and Stamps No. 02,  Bold and Graphic Sentiments Brushes and Stamps No. 01,  Mixed Bag Brushes and Stamps No. 05,  Home Sweet Home Brushes and Stamps,  TriPhemera Collage Sheet No. 01,  Thin Classic Photo Frames No. 04,  Collageable Puzzle Pieces No. 01,  Wood Veneer Words No. 10,  Floridian Mini Kit,  Symbology Linen Buttons No. 01.

And here it begins, Kim (KimR+) has made a page of her daughter cooking dinner, a lovely tradition they have going every Friday night.  Takes me back to a time when I cooked dinner for the first time.  We are so lucky to have this craft to be able to capture this moment in time, such a precious page Kim.

Supplies used by Kim:  Story Savers No. 01 Brushes and Stamps,  Arctic Whites Paper Pack No. 04,  Arrowed Sentiments Brushes and Stamps No. 02,  Attic Treasures Element Pack,  Be Hoppy: Washi Tapes,  Cooked Element Pack,  Cut Ups: Everyday No. 03,  Cut Ups: Springtime,  Lens Flares: Colors No. 01,  Malene Element Pack,  Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No. 01.

Now moving on to Debi (beehive50) in her uniquely brilliant way has created the ultimate foodie page.  I must admit to a love of taking pics of yummy meals when I eat out.  Debi has documented her “me” time, after a hard day at work or a gym workout, the delicious reward of some favourite food and a time to regroup.

Supplies used by Debi:  Photo Clusters No. 50,  Inked Words: Weekend No. 01 Brushes and Stamps,  Inked Words: Summer No. 01 Brushes and Stamps,  Heart Pointers Brushes and Stamps No. 01,  Symbology Enamel Brads No. 01,  Cooked Element Pack,  Artic Whites No. 4.

And for my page I just had to document our zucchinis, I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing about my zucchini, we are overrun by them at the moment and I’ve cooked them up every which way I can.   Anyone with more zucchini recipes there’s still a stack ready to pick, I’m all ears!!

So many food-related stories to choose from! It’s hard to know which one to pick. I’ll just have to go with whatever I get inspired by in the galleries, I think. 😀
