So Very Grateful

Today we continue our 7 Days of Gratitude at Designer Digitals with a challenge to create special layouts for the people (past or present) who are a blessing in our lives. Who do you appreciate having in your life or who would you like to thank or remember? Those are questions to keep in mind for this challenge. If you post your layout in the Filled With Gratitude gallery you could be the random winner of a $5.00 gift certificate to the Designer Digitals store.
Filled With Gratitude Gallery

Because I like to use Pinterest to gather ideas for my scrapbook art, I started a Gratitude board this month where I’m pinning DD products, layouts with a thankful theme and other ideas related to gratitude. If you’d like to check it out, here’s the link:

Need help getting started on your own thankful layout? Word art, like these sets by Cathy Zielske or Katie Pertiet, or a template by Ali Edwards, could be your starting point for your layout.

AE_LayeredTNo15PREVOnce you see, the inspiration layouts by Sam, Lori and Kim from the Creative Team, I’m sure you’ll be ready to start designing. These layouts tell a story of thankfulness through words and photos! Sam, for example, is a grandmother with four beautiful grandchildren who light up her life and whose photos light up our gallery when she posts pages like this one:

ever_so_gratefulThe row of hearts is a perfect motif for the theme of Sam’s layout. It’s Favorite Jean Hearts by Pattie Knox. The word art, With Gratitude Brushes by Ali Edwards, is coming to the store soon. Kim is a young mother who chose to feature a photo from a recent photo shoot of her lovely family. I think this photo is effective because it captures the strong love they have for each other.

So-Much-to-Be-Thankful-For-wLayering under Kim’s photo include: Banner Strips No. 01, Basic Polka Dot Ribbons No. 01 by Katie Pertiet and Essential Tape: Zig Zag by Andrea Victoria. Lori’s page is a tribute to a friend she’s recently lost in a tragic accident and her family’s beloved pet dog, another recent loss in her life. Her layout is meaningful because of her journaling and the little photos tucked into the envelope.

Reflectingon2012Lori’s products include: Pull Out Journaling by Lynn Grieveson, Yesterday and Today: Week Six Word Art by Ali Edwards, Ready Made Circles: Vintage No. 01 by Studio Double D, and From My Bookshelf Blendables and Frame Me No. 02A by Katie Pertiet.

I appreciate so much the designs by the Designer Digitals designers and the community of artists in our membership who share their lives in our gallery through their art. It is a privilege to hang out here at Designer Digitals with you all and a special thank you to Sam, Kim and Lori for their beautiful layout examples.
