Saturday Scraplift: Vertically Aligned Scrapbook Design

I always look forward to seeing layouts by Maruma (aka Uly) in the gallery, with their fresh colors and interesting designs – and this week I couldn’t resist picking out this great page:

team_webSuch a great subject for a page, and scrapped with beautiful use of color (and excellent use of Katie’s fabulous freebies too!)I love how beautifully the color scheme works with the photo, with the red of the chairs pulled out for the chevrons. There is plenty of white space, yet the vertical alignment of all the design elements and limited color palette ties everything thing perfectly.
I followed Uly’s lead with a pale background but bright colors pulled from the photo:

Linda did a fabulous take on the design by delineating her vertical elements with a block. I love the chevrons coming in from the side of the page.
