Simple is beautiful.
Real life has a way of interfering with my scrapbooking plans. My head is full of ideas for pages and even whole albums, techniques I want to try, kits I want to use….But often enough, I just don’t have time to make a ‘complicated’ layout. That’s really one of the great things about our craft, though….SIMPLE is often just as beautiful as complicated, and simple can still certainly be artsy, too!
Bawzie shared this simply beautiful artsy page in the gallery this past week.
Her photo treatment and simple but carefully chosen touches add up to a page that jumps out of the gallery! It inspired me, and it inspired our CT as well.
Anke absolutely nailed the sketchy look, and with those polygonal frames…WOW! (She’s rocking that dress, too, though that’s another story….!) Just a couple of elements and she’s got a real work of art.
Anke’s supply list for her layout includes: Basic Grids #2, Fresh Vintage Clare Collection, Scribbling Brushes #5, Wood Veneer Numbers No. 1, Around Words Brushes and Stamps: Dates.
Aino used the simple style to document a fun, everyday childhood moment: her daughter’s first bubblegum bubble! (I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching the ‘lessons!’ )
Aino used: Fresh Vintage Clare Solids, Curated Studio Mix No. 4, Scribbling Brushes No. 5, Arrowed Journalers No. 2, Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps Nos 2, 3, and 4, and Instamatic Frames No. 4.
I’ve been meaning to scrap this photo for a long time….almost two years now…..and bawzie’s page was just what I needed for inspiration! I used Vintage Book Paper Pack No. 4, Lovely Paper Pack No. 1, Fine Line Twists No. 2, Classic Deckled Photo Frames No. 1, Wood Veneer Circle Words No. 2, Chalkboard Alphabet No. 7, and Black, White and Tan Kit.
I’m hoping that the freedom of creating a simple artsy page will inspire you this week. Post your layouts to the Saturday Scraplift Gallery to keep the inspiration going!
