Saturday Scraplift Scrapbook Challenge: Extracting Dimension

Extracting dimension from your photographs to create interesting and attractive scrapbook pages is one of the treats of working with Photoshop. A DD gallery newcomer, Debby Todd, used a fun extraction to add interest to this fun layout:

SSLIt’s so cool to see how the turkeys are walking right out of the frame! Debby has some other dimensional details hidden in her page, too. Look for the deer hiding in the woods!

Our creative team was excited to have a hand at lifting of Debby’s work. Sam used the extraction technique to great effect in showcasing the energy and motion of her DH playing with his new water toy.

Sam’s supplies included Multimedia Dots No. 1, Brilliant Love Stitching, Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 11, and Filed Photo Frames No. 5.

While Sam is experiencing summer weather right now, Merr also had summer on her mind…even though I am well aware that the view outside Merr’s Minnesota window right now is mostly snow!

Merr used Stacked Classic Frames No. 2, Photo Cuts No. 4, Metal Clip Assortment No. 3, Marker Doodles: Summer Brushes and Stamps, Page Blends No. 1, A Bit of Grunge No. 3 Paper Pack, A Bit of Dirty Paper Pack, and Finley Element Pack.

Aino’s recent return to the Creative Team has renewed an interest in Art Journaling for many of us. Here she used Debby’s layout as inspiration for an expressive piece of digital art.

I’m not very good at doing extractions. Do you have a video tutorial? Your tutorials are fantastic, I always learn simple but amazing techniques. I would love to see one on doing extractions well. Thank you in advance!

Wow! These layouts are awesome!! … I wish I could do that. I’m just starting out & it takes me so long just to scrap one layout. Someday, I hope to scrap a layout like the ones you’ve shared today.
