Saturday Scraplift Scrapbook Challenge: It’s in the Crop

The crop can make all the difference in the mood of a photo and a layout, and this week’s Saturday Scraplift inspiration piece is a perfect example.

Bawzie makes a significant statement with her page by the way she crops her photo. She adds just a splatter (literally!) of brushwork and a couple of well placed elements to give her page structure, and the result is a striking layout.

Our Creative Team was eager to follow this inspiration! Sharon is a brand new grandma (again!) to a handsome grandson, and this design was perfect to feature a first photo of dear baby Jarvis. The vertical tape strips and bow reflect the original design, as does the orientation of the photo. Sharon’s supplies include Drawn Chevrons Paper Pack, Vintage Photo Frames No. 34, Painted Lace No. 2, Defined Tapes No. 1, Washi Tapes Bookshelf No. 1, Winter Artistry Element Pack, and Pinned Pearls No. 1

Merr also featured her young grandson on her page, which focuses on one of his endearing features–long, beautiful eyelashes. Credits for her page include: Long Wave Kit by Lynn Grieveson, Little Fabulous Joys by Ali Edwards, and Scribbling Brushes and Stamps No. 01, ARTpack Geometrics Brushes and Stamps No. 01, and Classic Curled Edge Photo Frames No. 01 by Katie Pertiet.

Mollie used this design to share one of her amazing throwback photos and of course the story behind it. Mollie’s journaling just makes her pages, and her page shows how well this design adapts for a more extensive journaling block. I also love Ali’s word art here–such a creative touch! To create her page, Mollie used: Alandia Tropics Kit, Alandia Rancheros Solids Paper Pack, Corkboard Hearts No. 1, Drawn Chevrons Paper Pack, Make a Choice Brushes and Stamps, Pencil Twist Arrows No. 1, Sports Brushes and Stamps Value Pack, Textured Cardstock: Cape Paper Pack, and Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No. 1.

I’m looking forward to creating a lift of this page myself, and I hope you will play along, too! When you do, please post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery to share the inspiration! And don’t forget that when you use all DD supplies on your page, it qualifies as an entry in our rewards program! You will want to sign in on the June Challenge Participation Thread to earn your credit.

Happy Saturday Scrapping!
