Saturday Scraplift: In the Round

Katie’s most recent throwdown produced a wealth of great pages in the gallery, and I was immediately taken by this beauty from DeLisa (DELISAK). The pictures are great, and I loved her approach to displaying them in a divided circle. The pops of pink and green against the dusky purple paper provide the perfect backdrop for her page. The Creative Team had fun interpreting DeLisa’s versatile design on their pages.

Kelly (mugsbigsis) masked her photo and then surrounded it with dozens of circles, everything from acrylics to frames to brushes. I love how the exclamation point calls attention to those little bird tracks in the snow, and she found the perfect quote to use on her page.

Janet (JALong) used stitching to create the circular shape and placed it over a collection of patterned paper banners on her pinkalicious page about her daughter at thirteen. I adore the chevron brushwork that grounds her design, and in my book bead scatterings are the perfect finishing touch on any page.

I went for a fairly literal lift of DeLisa’s page. When I saw the divided circle, I immediately thought of these cute pictures I captured when I met up with Lynn (grandma lynnie) and Bailey (Starlite9711) and Bailey’s children about a week ago. To continue the circular theme, I used some of Katie’s lens flares to emphasize my photos and title.

The last theme for my 52 Themes project was circles, so maybe I’m obsessed with them right now; but they can be used in so many different ways on a page. I hope DeLisa’s original design and the team’s examples have given you some inspiration that will have you creating in no time. Post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery. See you around!
