Saturday Scraplift: Fun with Cut Outs

I love the look of cut out elements on a scrapbook page and really enjoyed Kim’s cut out chat during the quarterly sale weekend recently. So when I saw the talented Agnieszka’s (Arte Banale) page in the gallery, I thought it was a natural choice for this week’s Saturday Scraplift. She created a delightful background for her photo with Katie’s flower cutting files and filled them with one of my favorite color combinations: pink and green. Sharon and Debi, two of my fellow Creative Team members, jumped at the chance to join me in lifting Agnieszka’s page. Here’s how she inspired us.

Agnieszka’s page

Sharon (Shannamay) borrowed Agnieszka’s idea of filling the chunky cuts flowers with pink and green patterned paper to match the sweet flower garland her granddaughter is wearing in her birthday party photos. Would you just LOOK at those eyelashes?? The doodled frames and splatters complete her design perfectly.

Debi (beehive50) says she has trouble filling up a page, but I think she’s done a masterful job with her tribute to her sweet furry friend Kyna. (Kyna, I can totally identify with that white hair!). Debi filled the cut out circles with well-chosen patterned papers to match Kyna’s lead and those doodled frames.

Even though I adored Agnieszka’s page and was inspired by it, I created a page that took off in a direction of its own – funny how that happens, isn’t it? I used Kim’s cut out technique for my title and filled some chunky cuts hearts with patterned paper, but my color palette was a little bolder than Agnieszka’s to match the photo of my niece and great nephew. Love his plaid shirt!

How will you use some cut outs, and how will you fill them? I know you’ll be inspired by Agnieszka’s page and will create something fabulous. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery as well as in the February Challenge Participation Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
