Saturday Scraplift: Create Drama with Angles

If you want to add instant energy and movement to your scrapbook page, try experimenting with angles as Lindsay (bessysue581) did in the cool page we’re lifting this week. I love the vibrant colors Lindsay pulled from the cute photo of her son; and the bands of angles provide homes for her title, journaling, and all sorts of fun brushwork and word art. Liz, Wendy, and I had a blast taking inspiration from Lindsay’s page.

Liz (lizziet5) put a beautiful black and white picture of her daughter front and center and backed it up with angled bands of soft-colored paper in diamond shapes. I love the way she divided her title on either side of her design, and she chose her accents perfectly.

Wendy (wendymck) also used a photo of her daughter who recently attended AIM Week at the United States Coast Guard Academy. Wendy’s blue, orange, and gray color scheme is spot on and does a great job complementing her photo. I particularly like that band of blue stars.

I was inspired by Lindsay’s design to tell the story of my out-of-control mug collection, and I had fun running with the red, white, and blue color scheme to add those energizing angles. I thought the central stripe was the perfect spot to add my journaling.
