Saturday Scraplift: Christmas in July

Ho ho ho! It’s time for our Christmas in July event and I decided to bring a little Christmas into our SSL this week. I thought it would be fun to use a Christmas page as inspiration. Some of us kept with a holiday/winter theme and others of us did not but that’s what makes this challenge so fun each and every week. No rules! 🙂

I picked this sweet page by Rache77 (Rachel). I just thought it was a great design that we could have some fun with today. I especially loved the splatters with the spill frame.

So, I got lots of help this week. Up first is lizziet5 (Liz) who kept with the winter theme and the color scheme. I really love her embossed background.  Along with the spill frame and scattered brushes it adds great depth to the page. And what a fantastic photo! Love it when the kids win.

Another holiday lift was done by ptabbert (Patsy) who started with a cream background, but just kept adding! Her background brushes are new to the store this week. Can’t get over her dog’s smile in this photo. 😀

esther_a (Esther) had a sad Christmas after her Dad’s passing but managed to capture this photo on Christmas day and I think it’s a lovely tribute. Her architectural frame brushes really highlight the photo and she too kept with the color scheme.Blendable Layers No. 81, Darcy Gardens Solids Paper Pack, Fine Lines Border Lines Brushes and Stamps No. 14, Golden Essentials No. 01 (branch, dust, staple, tape3)

Finally, I got to make a page again after being without my laptop for a month! I did not keep with the Christmas theme but rather used Rachel’s photo for inspiration. “Joy” to me was this moment I captured between my sister and my youngest. 15 year olds rarely let go in photos when Mom asks them to pose, so capturing this laugh meant the world to me.  I kept with the general layout of the page and combined two spill frames.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this week’s Christmas scraplift inspires you! Maybe you can scrap a photo from a past holiday or maybe it’ll be the perfect design for a beach vacation photo.
