There’s two reasons to be happy this Saturday! Of course, it’s our regular Saturday Scraplift challenge but it’s also National Scrapbook Day (NSD) and here at Designer Digitals we are already celebrating! Every day through Tuesday there will be a different category marked down 30% AND if you use coupon code NSD20, you will get an additional 20% off ANY item in the store. We will also have a 99c item every day as well!
We also have 16 new items this week with one priced at just 99c. The remaining items are marked down 30%, all through 7am EST on Wednesday.
So onto this week’s Saturday Scraplift Challenge! It’s a real pleasure to give a shout out for this super page by Mel (Britgirl). I love Mel’s style of scrapping, the way she pulls together a diverse choice of elements into a terrific design to create her masterpieces. Such creativity!
Linda (earlofoxford) jumped right in on the lift, switching up the ampersand to a number 2 and creating this fun page of her two grandchildren as they dressed for Halloween. I love all the blues of the photo stack, the seasonal masking top left and bottom right, and the array of patterned paper adorning the number 2 is wonderful!
Here’s a list of products that Linda used: Tundra Paper Pack – The Grunge Source; Chalkboard Photo Masks No. 01 Brushes and Stamps, Halloween Overlays No. 02, Vintage Edge Overlays No. 03, Fine Line Twists Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Numbered Layered Template Pack, Painted Quatrefoil Pencil Lines Paper Pack No. 01, Calne Add-On Paper Pack, Botanical Colors Cerulean Meadow Paper Pack, Anchors Away Paper Pack, Bit of Bokeh: Ice Paper Pack, ARToptions Splash No. 01 Paper Pack, Alandia Paix Paper Pack, Pencil Line Patterns Paper Pack No. 01, Roughed Up Photo Mats: Ledger No. 02, Roughed Up Photo Mats: Polka Dots, Candied Christmas Roughed Up Photo Mats, Batty Mini Mix, Brilliant Love: Roughed Up Pocket Cards, Cedar Crest Roughed Up Photo Mats, Art Class Frames No. 02, Musical Epoxies No. 01, Little Prince Element Pack, Fastener Basics No. 01, Drop Shadow Styles No. 02 – Katie Pertiet; Clear Thru Alphabet No. 10 – Maplebrook Studios.
Guest CT member, Diane, (dvhoward55) picked up on the ‘ampersand’ in Mel’s design and created her lift, working magic with the neutral tones and beautiful brushwork. A gorgeous lift with the image all set to pop against the unusual photo stack!
Diane’s supply list: Simple Scripts Brushes and Stamps No 1, Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 09, Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 05, Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 16, Collage Stacks No. 02, Blendable Layers No. 18, Blendable Layers No. 46, Blendable Layers No. 58, Blendable Layers No. 64, Blendable Layers No. 88 – all Katie Pertiet.
Mel’s page took Sherry (digi371) down the heritage route. It’s so special to have heritage stories to scrap and even more special when you have images too. Sherry’s done a grand job with the blending and brushwork, I love the handwritten font and how the layered border anchors all the detail of the page perfectly!
Sherry’s product list: Vintage Mini Mix Kit No. 05, Junk Journal Printable Collage Sheet No. 03, Vintage Mix Clusters Brushes, Stamps and Layers No. 13, Grunge Texture Masks Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Clipper Paper Pack, Family is Forever Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Aged Perfection Paper Pack, ARTsy Challenge mask Oct 17 Freebie – Katie Pertiet; Readymade Layers Rose Garden Borders – Studio Double-D *** coming soon ***.
We all know that the SSL can often push us beyond our comfort zones, opening our minds to use products or a design feature that we may not normally use, and I love how Debi (beehive50) took on the lift and incorporated aspects of it with some of her own signature style. Her minimal blending of the note paper edge and the hand scripted brush is gorgeous and I love the vibrancy of the image! So Debi… and a great lift!
Debi used the following: Everlasting Remix Solids Paper Pack, Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No. 01, Love Twists Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Hand Scripted Daily Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Flair Minis No. 01 – all Katie Pertiet.
Mel’s page certainly challenged me! For days, I had three different psd files open, moving stash between them until I finally reached my happy place with this one. I was determined to use the big ampersand but oh boy, rotating the text to the left of my photo cluster, that was hard! But after all said and done, I think this is one of my all time favourite pages of mine… thanks for the inspiration Mel!
Here’s what I used: Vintage Garden Solids Paper Pack No. 01, Vintage Garden Add-On Paper Pack No. 01, Vintage Press: Blush Paper Pack, Cambrianna Paper Pack, Arlesey Paper Pack, Artistry de Blanco Paper Pack, Vintage Blendable Layers No. 06, Colorful Paint Layers No. 03, Painted Patterns Hearts Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Vintage Photo Frames No. 36, Tabbed Frames Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Fresh Vintage: Albia Element Pack, Fresh Vintage: Clare Element Pack, Vintage Press: Blush Element Pack, Faringdon Element Pack, Simple Scripts Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Vintage Flashcards: Traveler, Vintage Taped Sentiments No. 02, Assorted Basic Stitching – Katie Pertiet; Just Linens Paper Pack No. 60 – Maplebrook Studios.
So whether you choose a punctuation symbol, a number or even a letter of the alphabet, I hope you’re inspired to take on the lift… when you’re done, post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery and remember, if you use all Designer Digitals products, you can link your page in the May 2018 Challenge Participation Thread so you can earn yourself a coupon for the store!
Remember too, the NSD specials in the store!
Till next time, take care and happy scrapping!
