Saturday Scraplift: Angling for Attention

Even though I’m usually a straight line kind of girl, an angle always catches my attention just as it did on Brenda’s (bbe) cool page in the gallery. I’m guessing it caught the attention of quite a few people, one of whom was Cassie who chose it to start the favorites thread this week. Great minds, you know! I love how Brenda manipulated the typography and tucked in the Erma Bombeck quotes around it. And then there’s the terrific brushwork – I could go on and on. The Creative Team had a blast drawing inspiration from Brenda’s page.

Carol (carollee), otherwise known as the Fitness Diva, scrapped about her newfound love of running and some of the milestones she’s achieved. I love how the brushwork matches her shirt, and the glow behind the typography is just the right touch. You go, girl!

Kelly (mugsbigsis) also made typography the focal point of her page about her son and his girlfriend moving to Denver. It was pure genius to use the map paper with the watery spots on the left, and the photo she chose symbolizes the theme of her page so well. I really like those metal accents, too!

After seeing a number of family date posters on Pinterest, I wanted to do one for the significant dates in our family, and this lift provided the perfect opportunity. I angled the five dates and then added angled filmstrips down the side, containing colorful paper and our monograms.

One reason I like doing challenges so much is that they get me out of my scrapping box. Brenda’s page was just the push I needed to do something atypical; I hope you’ll take the challenge and show us how it inspired you. Post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery.
