Who’s ready for the new year?! We are! To help ring in the new year, we have one last challenge for 2016, that you may play along with through the month of January 2017. It is, of course, about new year’s resolutions! But it does not have to be a traditional new year’s resolutions page, feel free to think outside the box on the idea of ringing in the new year! Things you want to accomplish, get done, have happen, have NOT happen? Goals, ideas, dreams? Let’s hear about them. Tell us what you want 2017 to mean! Do you embrace new philosophies in a new year? Use a new mantra? Swear to be more fit? Let’s hear about all of it!
To help with your inspiration, Katie has generously provided this freebie. (Feel free to use it or not for the challenge, it’s entirely your choice.) Thank you Katie for a year of generous freebies!
Several of our team members jumped right into the challenge to help provide you with some great ideas. I thought it was quite note-worthy that ALL of the sample pages (except mine) were photo-less. It’s so fun to see where the inspiration leads people!
DeLisa created this amazing effect with the paper strips on her page, and that color combination is amazing. This would make a great album cover. I love the symmetry of this.
On her page, DeLisa used the Black, White and Pink Kit, Big Bottom Lift Classic Photo Frames No. 01, Catching Rainbows Element Pack, December Stories Element Pack, Frosted Fun Element Pack, Hello 2017 Brushes and Stamps, Modern Vintage Simplicity Paper Pack No. 01, Modern Vintage Simplicity Paper Strips No. 01, and Modern Vintage Simplicity Printable Pocket Cards No. 01.
Rachael created a unique and clever background using tags. This page is a very elegant way to get started with the new year! I love all the details she used for the borders, this is just beautiful.
Rachael’s page features Sewn Labels Counting Weeks No. 01, Readymade Layers: Winter Borders No. 01, Readymade Layers: Christmas Borders No. 07, Framed Photo Masks Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Modern Vintage Simplicity Paper Pack No. 01, Readymade Edgers: Neutral No. 01, Holiday Foliage Layered Edgers No. 02, Page Fades Clipping Masks No. 01, Blendable Layers No. 48, Blendable Layers No. 61, Readymade Edgers: Vintage No. 05, Layer Works No. 755, and Silver Pattern Overlays No. 02.
Shannon made great use of the new pine brush in the store and created a lovely outdoorsy feeling page, that shares her hopes for the year. I like how the border creates a nice edge for the docu-stack and journaling.
The products on Shannon’s page include the ARTpack Juniper Pine Brushes, Stamps and Layers No. 01, DocuStack Layers No. 02, Readymade Layers: Winter Borders No. 01, Hello 2017 Brushes and Stamps, Natural Winter Woods Element Pack, Natural Wonders Paper Pack, and Christmas Joy Solids Paper Pack.
Jana’s page is festive and delightful, and celebrates with style! All of these samples are so inspiring! Now I want to pop the cork on the champagne! I love the sophisticated collage she created with the music and word art on the foil background.
In addition to the freebie stamps, Jana included Brushstroke Words New Years Brushes and Stamps, Christmas Joy Paper Pack, Foiled Twists No. 01, Glad Tidings Solids Paper Pack, Hello December Paper Pack, and Botanist Workbook Paper Pack No. 02.
For my page you will see that I went a complete different direction than the elegant samples above! I thought it would be fun to do a recap of some favorite books from the past year, and list the top must-reads on my list for the coming year. The new documenting life template series Katie created is so fun to use for lists!
This page features some products modified from the freebie, and these: DocuStack Layers No. 02, Documenting Life Notebook Weekly Layered Template No. 01, Happy New Years Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Foressa Paper Pack, Resolve Brushes and Stamps No. 01, and Painted Pencil Lines Drawn Mix Brushes and Stamps No. 01.
I hope these pages have helped inspire you to ring in the new year along with all of us at DesignerDigitals! It’s been a great year of challenges! Looking forward to the new year’s inspiration! Be sure to post your pages in the Scrapbook Challenge Gallery, and to be eligible for rewards note your entries in the January Challenges Sign-in Thread.

Lots of fun ideas with these examples. I especially like the idea of 5 favorite books read as I am a reader and this is a great way to remember what and when with my reading.
