Project Life: Printing Digital Supplies

Welcome to the Project Life post for this week! I am doing my Project Life as a hybrid project but I’m using mostly Designer Digitals supplies instead of the supplies that came with the paper version of Project Life. I’m choosing to make most of my own journaling cards and embellishments by pre-printing DD supplies onto white cardstock. The reason I’m doing this is because I want my kids and husband to be as involved as possible. If I have my supplies printed out, the kids can just grab a journaling card and write.

Here’s a photo I snapped this week of some of my digital supplies printed out. You’ll see supplies from a bunch of DD products including: Katie Pertiet’s Days of the Week Journalers No. 02, the round journalers from Katie Pertiet’s Sweet St. Nicholas Kit, Katie Pertiet’s Cut Ups: Everyday No. 02, and Cathy Zielske’s Little Labels No. 01 Brushes and Stamps.

And here are some examples to show how I’m incorporating them into my Project Life spreads. For instance, in Week 9, I made three journaling cards using only DD supplies. They were printed out ahead of time and when it was time to put together that week’s spread, I simply handwrote my journaling on the printed digital cards.

In this picture below, you can see that I printed the “my list” word art from Ali Edwards’ For the Love of Lists Brushes and Stamps onto a piece of white cardstock and then layered a round journaling tag from Katie Pertiet’s Sweet St. Nicholas Kit on the cardstock.

Honestly, it would be easier if I just made the cards in PSE – journaling and all – and printed them out at the end of each week. But because this project is really for the whole family, I’d rather have all of the supplies I want to use ready to go. And maybe someday I’ll even convince my husband to do some journaling!

Looking forward to seeing your Project Life layouts in the gallery this week!
