The first time I ever posted a page in the Designer Digitals gallery, I was terrified. I remember my finger hovering over the ENTER key for several minutes before I finally took the plunge and posted my page. I recently went back to my very first pages, and realize how much my style has changed over the years, and how much I’ve learned about page design and Photoshop.
I love the fact that digital scrapbooking provides you with the opportunity to go back and fix things that you don’t like on a page, or in some cases, do an entire ‘makeover’ of a page using different techniques, newly acquired skills, and best of all, new products!
For this challenge, take a trip back to the very beginning of your Designer Digitals gallery and to the very first page that you posted. Do a ‘makeover’ using either new products and/or a new style. When you post your makeover page, don’t forget to provide a link to your original page in the credits so that we can see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ transformation!
Pam and Liz were brave enough to give it a go. Liz redid her very first page in the DD gallery of her daughter in the snow. I love how she enlarged the photo to make it the main focal point in her ‘makeover’ page!
Liz used the following products on her page: Leyton Solids Paper Pack, Life Lines Solids Paper Pack, Kerava Solids Paper, Pack, Malene Solids Paper Pack, Antibes Element Pack, Readymade Borders Neutral, Fine Lines Border Lines Brushes and Stamps No. 10, Flake Scatters No. 01, Winterized Photo Frames No. 01, Stitched Down Dates – altered for 2010
Pam chose to focus on only one photo from the original cluster of three on her very first Designer Digitals page. I love how it turned out.
Pam used the following products on her makeover page: Arctic Whites Paper Pack No. 02, Ledger Grid Overlays No. 01, Letter Box Pattern Clusters, Brushes and Stamps No. 07, Painted Photo Masks Brushes and Stamps No. 06, LakeLand Element Pack, Three Words Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Wood Veneer Symbology No. 01, Wood Veneer Alphabet No. 19, Sparkling Alphabets Americana.
For my first page that I ever posted at DD, I liked the basic idea of my layout, but at the time I didn’t own many Designer Digitals products nor did I do a very good job with the quality of the photos. I chose to add some layers, tidy up the photo, and include a few extra details like the date and some journaling!
For my page, I used Alandia Tropics Kit, Bakers Twine Assortment No.1, DelMar Shores Complete Scrapbook Collection, Lens Flare Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Oceania Scrapbooking Collection, Schmeared Blocks No. 01 Brushes and Stamps, Tidewater Scrapbooking Collection, Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 13, Water Tropics No. 01, Photo Clusters No. 16
I hope you are excited to play along with this new challenge. Come join in and share your page with us in the Challenge Pages gallery. If you use ALL DD PRODUCT on your page you can work your way to savings in the DD store by posting a link to your page in the July Challenge Participation thread. Have fun!
