Mask Appeal Scrapbooking Challenge – Artsy Layered Paints

Happy May, everyone! I can hardly believe we are in the middle of May already! We haven’t worked with a layered mask in a while, so I thought this month it would be fun to play with one of Katie’s Artsy Layered Paints.  I love that I can turn off layers, move them around, or change their size, depending on my photo, or the mood I am trying to achieve on my page. Katie has offered a freebie for the Artsy Layered Paints and Brenda and Sharon have helped me out this month and  created wonderful inspiration pages to get the creativity rolling:

Sharon (justbnsharon) used the mask horizontally, and clipped her beautiful photo to all of the layers. By color-coordinating the scribbles, she added interest to the page. Her perfect choice of elements and word art added wonderful finishing touches to the page.

Brenda (bbe) used the mask vertically, and added interest by changing a few of the layers to black and white, which made for a stunning contrast with the purple petunias. Her element choices and brushwork added the perfect amount of pop to her page.

I (jcaruth910) hid the scribble layers of the mask and clipped the photo to one layer and a few papers to the others, and changed some of the blending modes.
