Hello everyone and welcome to this month’s Mask Appeal Challenge. You all rocked last month’s challenge with the photo cuts mask! This month I chose a delicate, watery mask to work with. Katie has provided a freebie pack with the mask and a paper for this challenge and you can find it here.
My friends Linda (earlofoxford) and Merrilee (digigrandma) have created two beautiful inspiration pages to help get the creative juices flowing!
Merrilee took this adorable photo of her grandson, and clipped it to the mask and blended it into the background paper. I love how her journaling draws you eye down the “drip” of the mask.
Here are the supplies Merrilee used: Lynn Grieveson: Antiquities Paper Pack No. 02. Katie Pertiet: Blendable Ledgers No. 01, Taped Together Overlays No. 01, Fine Line Twists Brushes and Stamps.
Linda used the mask to highlight the journaling on her page about her granddaughter’s birthday trip to see the Gala of the Royal Horses. While the photos are stunning, the journaling tells a special story, which makes the use of the mask just brilliant!
Here are the products used on Linda’s page: Katie Pertiet: Jaspia Solids Paper Pack,
Photo Corners: Colors No. 01, Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 06, Hinge Pack,
Watery Photo Masks No. 07, Jaspia Element Pack, Ripped Vintage Photo Frames No. 05,
Bridle Creek Element Pack, Drop Shadow Styles No. 02, Ali Edwards: Hand-drawn Frames: No. 01 12×12.
When I (jcaruth910) saw this mask, it immediately reminded me of a flower. I clipped the photo on to the mask, played around with some blending modes and it came out like this.
Here are the products I used on my page: Katie Pertiet: Watery Photo Masks No. 7, Folia Element Pack, Edge Overlays No. 7, Minted Wings Kit, Text Clusters No. 4, Painted Book No. 3. Grunge Source: Springerly Paper Pack. Lynn Grieveson: Worn Photo Edges.
Using the mask provided in the freebie pack and your other Designer Digitals products, post your page in the Mask Appeal Scrapbook Challenge Gallery as well as in the April Challenge Forum Post to increase your savings at Designer Digitals. You can check out this thread for details. I want to thank Linda and Merrilee for their beautiful, inspiring pages and I look forward to seeing your work in the Gallery.
