Mask Appeal Scrapbook Challenge – Fade Out

Hello everyone!  Here we are in the last week of January, and it’s time for the Mask Appeal Challenge. This month, I thought we would go with a little bit different type of mask. Recently, Katie came out with these wonderful new masks called Page Fades and we will be using one of the masks in the collection for this challenge. They are so much fun and very versatile. You can flip, resize and clip papers or photos to them. She has provided a wonderful freebie pack to get you started on your page and you can download it here.

Here are a few examples from the Creative Team to jump start your creativity:

Esther’s (esther_a) page is both celebratory and bittersweet. As her daughter turns 18, she is reminded there are all types of new things on the horizon for both of them. She clipped the Page Fade to the background paper included in the freebie packet and placed it on a neutral background paper, and then clipped three photos of her daughter to another mask. Her simple element choices and word art are a perfect compliment to the beautiful photos.

Products used on the page: Katie Pertiet: Page Fades No. 1, Finley Papers No. 8, Stamped Blocks No. 34 Brushes and Stamps, The Curated Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 01, Frosted Fun Solids Paper Pack, Doily Edgers No. 04.

Bailey’s (Starlite9711) page highlights her son’s new interest in archery. She also used the Page Fade with the freebie paper, but added another complimenting paper to the background as well. The arrows in the paper, as well as the arrow elements go perfectly with her photo. The brushwork she chose finishes off the page brilliantly.

My page (jcaruth910) highlights a photo I took of a fox at the Arizona Desert Museum. I also used the Page Fade in the background, clipped to paper, but also used it on the photo.
I altered the mask a bit by flipping it and stretching it out a bit so more of the photo could be revealed.
