Let’s Blend Challenge – Blending With Text

Happy May, everyone! Lately, Katie has designed some wonderful Watery Typecast Blends, so I thought this month we would give you some ideas on how to use them. Here are three pages from the Creative Team to get you started:

Liz (lizj) used the text as a background, which, along with her paper choice created a wonderful foundation for her blended photo.

Products used: Katie Pertiet: Great Escape Canvas Cardstocks Paper Pack, Round Vintage Photo Frame Stacks No. 01, Fisherman Blendables, Blendable Layers Scratchy Borders No. 01, Messed Up Photo Blocks Brushes and Stamps No. 12, Canvas Cardstocks Paper Pack No. 19, Messed Up Overlays No. 04, Title Lines Shadowed Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Watery Typecast Blends Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Readymade Edgers: Vintage No. 04, Readymade Clusters: Spring, ARTpack Wings Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Artsy Grid Overlays No. 01.

Brenda (bbe) used the text as an overlay for this stunning full page photo. She then added more brushwork to complete the page.

Products Used: Katie Pertiet: Blendable Layers No. 31, Watery Typecast Blends Brushes and Stamps No. 01 (freebie for this challenge), ARTpack Wings Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Artsy Grid Overlays No. 01.

I (jcaruth910) used the other text as a partial frame and erased some of the text that was over the photo. I also doubled and recolored the frame portion.

Products used: Katie Pertiet: Watery Typecast Blends, Title Lines No. 02, Stamped Blocks Brushes and Stamps No. 34, Watery Overlays, Blendable Layers No. 18, Blendable Layers No. 11, Blendable Layers No. 01, Great Escape Solids Paper Pack.
