Let’s Blend Challenge – Blending Text

Let’s jump right in to this month’s Let’s Blend Challenge. Blending text into your images is super easy and it can add interest as well as camouflage areas that are not so eye appealing.

On my page, after clipping my photo to a mask,  I clipped one of Katie’s Defining Grunge products to the photo, and changed the blend mode to overlay. I then added a layer mask to the text and used a soft round brush to erase the portions I didn’t want to show on the photo. By clipping another one to the frame and again masking out what I did not want, I added a bit of interest to the frame. To round out the theme, a Blendable Layer was added that also included some text.

Here are the products I used: Canvas Color Mix No. 16, Blendable Layers No. 10, Typed and Scripted No. 2, Blendable Layers No. 8, Meriam Ridge Blendable Layers, Defining Grunge Brushes No. 3, Spill Frame Layers No. 29.

If you are looking to add just a bit of interest to your page, or hide a portion of a photo, try this technique.

When creating your page, you can use all or some of the products Katie has provided in the freebie pack. Remember to post them in the Mask Appeal Challenge Gallery and link up your page in the September Participation Thread for proper credit.

I look forward to seeing your work in the gallery. Have fun!
