Inspired by Typography: Saturday Scraplift Challenge

Typography, subway art, chalk…. these are scrapbooking techniques that are really on trend! Our DD community member Dawneephay recently posted a set of pages that feature great use of typography and fonts.

The pages celebrate the recent births of two grand-nieces. This one features precious baby Olivia, and I thought it served as great Saturday Scraplift inspiration! I love the simple, graphic design with the prominent use of fonts and type. Our creative team was inspired, too, and here are some pages they’ve created to further stimulate your creative juices!

SSL Janet

One aspect of Janet’s signature style is her use of a characteristic font. I love the combination of classy fonts she chose here to highlight her daughter’s own self-description. The chalkboard background paper is the perfect touch, too.

Janet’s supply list includes: Chalk it Up: Basics No. 3 Paper Pack, Chalkboard Photo Masks No. 1 Brushes and Stamps, Bubble Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Everyday Sentiment Strips Brushes and Stamps, Clean Stitched Banners: White No. 1, Photo Corners: Colors No. 1, DocuStacks No. 1, Hey There Kit, Bessa Kit, Classic Curled Photo Frames No. 1, Banner Safety Tags No. 1, Finley Scrapbooking Kit, School Mates Element Pack, Metal Clip Assortment, Bead Scatterings No. 4.

SSL Bailey

With back to school right around the corner (and even already here for some!), Bailey used the typography/chalk theme to document who her sweet son is in Grade 3. Love that photo!

Bailey made use of these supplies: Quirky Words School No. 2, Fine Line Twists No. 2, Fine Line Borders No. 12, Finley Kit, Astro Element Pack, Chalkboard Dots No. 1, Chalk it Up Papers No. 3, Chalkboard Arrows, Chalkboard Alphas, Chalkboard Hearts, Chalkboard Stars.

SSL Wendy

Chalkboard art inspired not only Wendy’s design, but her page theme as well! What a fun way to remember this classic summer activity.

Wendy’s page uses: Chalked Outline Alphabet No. 1, Chalk it Up: Basics No. 1 Paper Pack, Chalkboard Arrows Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Photo Clusters No. 31, Chalkboard Rule Lines Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Symbology Enamel Brads No. 1.

I am looking forward to seeing how fonts and type inspire you! Please create a page using DD supplies and post it in our Saturday Scraplift Gallery to share!
