Template Scrapbooking Challenge: Movies, Books and More

Kim here with this weeks template challenge! I really enjoy documenting lists. Especially the things that we may forget about down the road. I do however, need to be better at doing this more often. When I came across Studio Double-D’s Layer Works No. 155 I knew immediately that I wanted to play with it.

Steph took the opportunity to document a few of her girls favorite movies. I love how she wrote down the detail in her journaling…such a great mom! And the neutral palette is wonderful not to distract from the focus. However, with this template I wanted to step outside of the box just a little and document something other than movies. Bailey used the template to showcase some of the apps that she loves. I think it’s so fun to learn about new and different apps. I adore how Bailey used fun and bright colors. Mask Appeal Scrapbooking Challenge: Turn the Spotlight on Your Photo

Hello everyone! This is Jana and I am here with another Mask Appeal Challenge.

As memory keepers, I think we all have photos that are extra special. In fact, sometimes they are so special that it is difficult to scrap them. We want to make sure that we create a page that truly showcases them and sometimes that seems a bit daunting. Today, I have just what you need. Download Katie’s fabulous freebie pack, grab a favorite photo, and clip it to the free mask. It is as if you are instantly shining the spotlight on your favorite photo. I think you will REALLY like this mask. It is simple and beautiful. It will immediately give your photo a bit of artistry.

One Theme, Three Scrappers: MOTHERS!

What better subject for this week’s One Theme: Three Scrappers than MOTHERS?! As it turns out, those of us in the U.S. aren’t the only ones that just celebrated Mother’s Day weekend. Most countries in the world do celebrate Mother’s Day and, amazingly, most of us celebrate on the 2^nd Sunday of May. France, Haiti and Sweden will celebrate later this month but, Norway has already celebrated (February), as has the United Kingdom (March). And, of course, other countries will continue to celebrate mothers well into the year.

So, join in this week and celebrate motherhood… showcase your mother. Or your grandmother. Or your daughter becoming a mother. How you feel about being a mother. Maybe even your sweet dog or cat just became a mother! (hehehe) Let’s rejoice and celebrate all the mothers we know! Here are three layouts from the CT to inspire you!

Chrissy celebrated her own mother on this pretty layout! (I don’t know about you, but I don’t think her mum looks like she’s 60!) The colors and elements are so complementary to the photo… they’re so fun and pretty! Chrissy took a clever approach to her journaling, first describing her mother’s admirable qualities, then adding things that her mum likes now. The last paragraph of Chrissy’s journaling touches on her own feelings for her mother… I think we all can see what a great mum she has!

Playing with Paper Challenge

It is time to “play with paper” and I am hoping you are ready to play along! Patterned paper can create so much visual interest on your page. It can be used for a background or clipped to a mask for texture or even layered as mats for that special picture. There are just so many possibilities! This challenge will involve using three different patterned papers on your page….and I can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you!

The details of the challenge are to use these three styles of patterned paper:

(1) A floral piece of paper

(2) A piece of paper with polka dots

(3) Your choice of any patterned paper

(4) Upload your page containing 100% Designer Digitals products to the weekly challenge gallery by 11pm EDT on 5/20/13 for a chance to win a $5 Designer Digitals store coupon. Please have in your title “Playing with Paper” so that your page will not get missed!
