Fall Sports Spectacular: One Theme, Three Scrappers

Hi, y’all… it’s Debi (beehive50) here this week with our second “One Theme, Three Scrappers” challenge!

For most of us, it’s fall and we all know what that means for all too many households: Sports are upon us! Especially football! And, soccer! *wink* For most of us, fall is the start of the sports season with professional, college, high school and club sports all gearing up. Here in Southern California, it’s time for football (don’t forget the cheerleaders!), soccer, volleyball, field hockey and cross country running.  In some areas, basketball and water polo are starting up, too… maybe where you live, it’s time for another sport to kick in!

So what better way to challenge our three scrappers than with a fabulous and fun FALL SPORTS CHALLENGE! You may have kids playing sports now, you might head off to the stadium to catch a live game or you may just kick back on the weekend and cheer your favorite team on TV… or maybe you don’t like sports and wish you could turn the TV channel to something that isn’t action! But no matter what, fall means sports and we want to see your layouts!

Below are a few products that the CT used for our sports pages. You aren’t required to use these products, but guess what? These featured products will be included in the “Thrifty Thursday” sale this week! So, you can pick some new goodies for a great price and use these items along with whatever else is in your stash to create your own fall sports page. And, be sure to check out ALL the sports products in the store… there are kits, papers, brushes and alphabets for ALL kinds of sports, from these popular fall sports to wrestling, track-and-field, hockey, basketball, baseball, golf, swimming, tennis… the list goes on and on! Just search for “sports” in the DD store and you’ll be amazed at what you find!

KT174180XI absolutely love the energy on this layout from Sara… experiencing a college football game IS energizing, to say the least! And, Baylor University’s colors are full of life and pop against the neutral background. She used the brushes as borders and I love the cut-ups added as photo accents! And, what great composition, wouldn’t you agree?

From (American) football to (European) football… or better known to most of us: Soccer! And, yes, it’s soccer in South Africa, too… if you were wondering! Anyways, is this not the cutest soccer layout? I love how Sam has given us a minute-by-minute rundown on Jamie’s first soccer practice, including what he did but also that valuable soccer (grand)mom advice! And, of course, Pattie’s enamel soccer ball as the “O” is clever!

Now… more football! This time it’s high school football and Wendy’s son’s high school team is having a great season, winning their conference and making the playoffs! Awesome! I love how Wendy filled in the “Varsity Felts” with team colors and the yardage brush is perfect along the bottom of the journaling card. And, of course, another Pattie “sports enamel”… ya just gotta love ‘em!

And, just when you thought you’d see a soccer page from me, right… *wink* Gotcha! Now that my kids’ high school sports are done, I get to watch my nephew and niece play! Yay! Something new and different to shoot and scrap! For this layout, I simply grouped the elements together, filling one of the frames in the cluster, and added some photos… and voilà! And, then discovered that Pattie really needs to create a volleyball for me! LOL

And, so, OK… I had to do something with soccer, right? *wink* Going thru some old photos I found this one… my old “soccer mom” sticker! What amazing memories it brought back! I used Cathy’s wordart, but cropped it to use only the “proud to be a” part of it and then used my photo to complete the title. A couple Pattie’s enamel soccer balls and it’s a wrap!

“2, 4, 6, 8… who do we appreciate? Go DD!” (Yes, that was a sports-inspired cheer! Ha. And, yes, I know that didn’t quite rhyme! LOL)
