Color Spots Scrapbook Challenge: Watermelon

Summer! What do you love about summer? One of the things I really love about summer is all the fresh fruit! Our fridge is stocked with fruit from the garden as well as the local stores! We just can’t get enough of it, but I’m a big foodie too! My family can’t get enough of it! My oldest is helping with the garden this year and the one thing she’s most excited about is the watermelon, next to her bell pepper plants of course. Checking it daily to see if it’s ready. This is where I drew my inspiration from this month. Here are a few inspiration photos and pages from the CT.

I (KimR+) am the odd man out in my family, I actually don’t like watermelon. But that didn’t stop me from playing with these colors. After I picked the colors, we received the photos from our family reunion a few weeks ago. The large family photo was just perfect for the muted watermelon colors.Supplies used: Clock Parts No. 01Dictionary Edges No. 02Enamel Brads Alphabet No. 01Frame Hangers No. 02,  Letter Box Remnants No 1, Quirky Banner Strips No. 01Star Glows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Stitched Up Frames No. 04Textured Cardstock: SeaSand Paper PackTwisted Dots No. 01Watery Blumes No. 17, Watery Slide Reels No 1, Wood Veneer Words No. 27Layer Works No. 902Layer Works No. 974

Christine (Christine Irion) created a fun watermelon page. Her little guys face just says it all! I love the mix of pattern papers along with all of the splatters! After all, when a kid eats watermelon, there is a mess to clean up, LOL! The Lens Flare: Colors was a perfect addition to the page, it’s like the summer sun shining to ripen the watermelon on a hot summer day.Supplies used: Color Essentials Pink Bundle, Color Essentials Lime Element PackLayer Works No. 742Black, Creme and Red KitLooking for Love Solids Paper PackLooking for Love Kit, Deer Lodge Solids Paper PackBrierley Element PackCurated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 25Twisted Stitches No. 02

Deborah (DivaMom96) was also up for this fruity challenge. Plus she’s a girl after my own heart, fresh strawberries! Too bad the birds get to ours before we do. I adore the photos of these two at the strawberry patch. The use of the Layer Works is just perfect. She recolored it to perfection.
