Back in the day, the only “seasonal” color scheme in October was black and orange. I’m loving the new Halloween Magic Kit and other black and orange products we’ve got available to us at DD, but I’m also thrilled to see some new “seasonal” color schemes cropping up. Purple and lime is one of my favorites!
Today’s color challenge is about using purple and lime to create your own scrapbook page. And you don’t have to limit yourself to “Halloween” themes. Purple and lime look beautiful together regardless of theme, as a couple of more inspiration photos demonstrate:
Our creative team had fun working with this energetic color scheme, and they came up with some beautiful examples.
The light in Aino’s photo just takes my breath away….as does the fresh, light lime accenting her daughter’s purple outfit. Aino’s supplies are: Summer Gardens Scrapbooking Collection, Oversprayed Frames Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Toothy Halloween Paper Pack, Black, White and Lime Kit, Bold and Scripted No. 8, Sentiment Tags No. 1, Watery Branches No. 1, Everyday Love Journal Cards Vol. 2.
Even the photo treatment on Mel’s page really blends well with the purple and lime elements on the textured neutral background. I’ve loved watching her little Eden through Mel’s scrapbook pages! Supplies on this layout include: Metal Clip Assortment, Enveloped Frames No. 1, Touch Up Paint Brushes and Stamps No. 5, Clean Stitched Rectangles: White No. 1, Damash Tonals: Ocean Blues Paper Pack, Catana Solids Paper Pack, Brushed Alphabet No. 2, Gotta Love Brushes and Stamps No. 2, Love Fest Embellishment Set, Jacinda Kit, Tage Paper Pack.
I hope to see a flood of purple and lime showing up in our Color Challenge Gallery! And you don’t want to forget to see this thread for information on how participating in the challenges here at DD can earn you a discount on a future purchase! Once you’ve completed your page, you’ll want to sign in for your October Challenge Participation.
And just one more “bonus” hint to get you going….check out the great 99 cent items that are being offered during the Harvest of Memories Sale this week. You’ll find some kits that look like they were made for this challenge.
