Christmas in July!

Christmas in July is one of my favorite events. By July I am feeling fresh again about Christmas, and ready to tackle those photos from the prior year. Plus, if you are like me, and only get copies of Christmas photos months later, it’s a new opportunity to get those Christmas photos scrapped!

Helping me out with the Christmas in July challenge are Jen and Liz. Jen made a two page spread (because she has lots and lots of great family photos!). I love how she made the two-pager cohesive using the same color scheme. It’s a lovely, graphic design with loads of real looking embellishments. For page 1 Jen used Classic Sidelift Storyboard Frames No1 (coming out this week!), Classic Deckled Photo Frames No. 01 and Redwork Scrapbooking Collection.

For page 2, in addition to the products used on page 1, Jen used Layer Works 571.

Liz has been working on a terrific Days of December book, which you will see in the gallery she has been adding to during this event. Check out both Jen and Liz’s galleries for inspiration, as these ladies have a lot of Christmas pages! For the challenge Liz made this terrific page showcasing a couple of cute elves, her adorable daughter and beautiful sister. I like the way Liz filled the sides of the frame with patterned paper that really makes the elf photo pop! She used the new frames coming out this week on her page too: Classic Side Lift Storyboard Photo Frames No. 1. She also used Handdrawn Mix December Brushes and Stamps No.1, Color Me Happy Solids Paper Pack, Days of December 2014 Photo 4×6 Borders, Holly Twists, Artsy Stars Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Antibes Element Pack, Two Tone Paper Pack and Readymade Borders: Christmas No. 04.

For my page (Liz #2!), I was thrilled to receive these cute cookie-decorating photos of my granddaughters to play with. I had so many to pick from I knew I needed to create a multi-photo spread to give each photo its turn. There are lots of terrific products on sale in the store right now for your Christmas pages. Here is what I used on my page: Stamped Alpha No 7, which is coming soon to the store, Stitched Up Frames No. 08Pine Creek Element PackWooden Alphabet No. 06Readymade Borders: Red No. 01Winter Woods Add-on Paper PackWinter Woods KitReadymade Circles: Winter No. 01Love for Christmas Brushes and StampsLoosely Labeled No. 10 and Brierley Element Pack.

The team at DD have provided a wonderful freebie, which is not required to be used to qualify for the challenge (but sure is cute!). Please post your pages in the scrapbook challenges gallery, and remember if you use 100% Designer Digitals products, post in the challenge gallery and link your page in the July Challenge Participation Thread, it will count toward your savings in the rewards program. So go scrap those Christmas photos!

One Response to Christmas in July!

Fun spreads! I still have a hard time wrapping my head around Christmas in July but I do enjoy these examples. (I’m going to guess Jen got a little ahead of herself – doesn’t she mean 12/24/2014…? 😀 )
