Boo to You

Witches and black cats and costumes, oh my! If you’re like me, you look forward to Halloween each year and enjoy seeing the children (as well as adults and even pets!) dressed up in costumes of all types. My camera certainly does get a workout.

Here at DesignerDigitals, we’re celebrating with this fun challenge. Katie has prepared an extra nice freebie package that includes 3 of my very favorite Halloween papers and as a bonus, there will be a Maplebrook Studio template included. (Templates are such a great way to start a project.) The challenge: To use the template and at least 2 of the papers, plus a single photo. Notice that these papers are not strictly for Halloween and if this isn’t a holiday you typically celebrate, please do you use them in a non-traditional way.

Liz (lizj) has shared a perfect example of a non-traditional page. The thought process she went through as she was choosing her design is as fun and colorful as the design itself. It certainly is an entertaining story and a must see!

In addition to the freebies, supplies used by Liz were Fall Journal Labels No.1, Everlasting Element Pack, Torn Vintage Journalers, Readymade Circles: Life No. 01, Botanique Scrapbook Kit No.1, Oh Yeah Brushes and Stamps, Naturally Krafty No. 08 Paper Pack, Attic Treasures Scrapbook Kit, Readymade Borders: Fall No. 05, Inking Pumpkins Brushes and Stamps, Mango Skies Mini Kit, Almost There Element Pack, Striping Graphic Brushes and Stamps No.01, Awesome Autumn Element Pack, Krafty Words Brushes and Stamps No. 01

Speaking of stories – Merrilee (digigrandma) has a Halloween story that you won’t want to miss either. It’s a mix of truth and fiction and will be one of those memory keepers that lives on through her children and grandchildren for generations! Isn’t that what we all want? I love how she edited the template to provide room for her journaling.

Along with the freebies, Merrilee used Halloween Dots Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Halloween Magic Flairs, and Krafted Halloween Mini Kit.

For myself, (bbe) Mixing colorful patterned papers just makes me happy and this is the perfect time of year for some experimenting. My focus? Stars, stripes, dots and paisley’s.
